Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Telejet (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Telejet application for Android (the “Telejet App” or “App”) — an alternative client for Telegram that reimagines Telegram channels as a social network with a post feed, likes, comments, stories, channel discovery, and messaging features.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. It applies to all users of the Telejet App and the Telejet website at https://telejet.org (together, the “Services”).
By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Important: Telejet is an independent project and is not affiliated with Telegram. Certain features of the Telejet App operate through the Telegram API. Data processed directly by Telegram’s servers is governed by Telegram’s Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy covers only the data that Telejet collects and processes independently.

1. Legal Basis for Processing Your Data
We process your personal data on the following legal grounds under the GDPR and similar data protection laws:
- Consent — where you have given explicit consent (e.g., enabling specific features).
- Performance of a contract — where processing is necessary to provide you with the Services you have requested, including the App’s core functionality.
- Legitimate interests — where processing is necessary for our legitimate interests, including providing effective and innovative Services, improving the App, ensuring security, and preventing fraud — provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
- Legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: When you log in through Telegram, we receive your Telegram user ID, display name, and profile photo as provided by the Telegram API. We do not receive or store your Telegram password.
- User-generated content: Comments, reactions, likes, bookmarks/favorites, and other content you create within Telejet’s own features (not within Telegram’s messaging infrastructure).
- Support communications: If you contact us at support.tg@proton.me, we collect the content of your message, your email address, and any attachments you send.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, screen resolution, and language settings.
- App usage data: Features used, session duration, screens visited, interaction patterns, channel subscriptions within Telejet, and feed engagement data.
- Crash and performance data: Crash logs, error reports, performance metrics, and diagnostic data to help us identify and fix bugs.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not read, store, or have access to your Telegram private messages, group chats, or secret chats.
- We do not collect your phone number, contacts list, or call logs.
- We do not collect precise GPS location data.
- We do not store your Telegram password or two-factor authentication codes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Providing and operating the App: Displaying your feed, enabling comments and reactions, and delivering core App functionality.
- Improving the App: Analyzing usage patterns and crash data to fix bugs, optimize performance, and develop new features.
- Personalization: Customizing your feed and channel recommendations based on your interests and usage patterns within Telejet.
- Customer support: Responding to your inquiries and resolving issues.
- Security and fraud prevention: Detecting and preventing unauthorized access, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Legal compliance: Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
4. Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. This service collects anonymized and aggregated data, including session data, feature usage, and crash reports. This data helps us improve the App’s performance and user experience.
Analytics data is not linked to your Telegram identity.
5. Translation and Text Processing at the Request of the User
Users can choose to translate or summarize content within the Telejet App. Since Telejet may rely on Google LLC or other third-party providers for automatic translation and text processing, the text of any message or content that users choose to translate or process may be shared with the respective provider in order to obtain the result.
- These third-party providers will only access the text data to provide the requested translation or summary and will not use it for any other products, services, or advertising.
- No account identifiers, Telegram user IDs, or other personal information is included in these requests — only the text content selected by the user.
- Do not submit sensitive personal information (passwords, financial details, personal identification numbers, or private conversations) to translation or text processing features.
6. Data Processed by Telegram
Telejet uses the Telegram API to provide messaging, channel access, and related features. When you use these features:
- Your messages, media, and interactions are transmitted through and processed by Telegram’s servers.
- Telejet acts as a client interface; we do not intercept, store, or have independent access to the content of your Telegram communications.
- Cloud chats, secret chats, calls, and media are handled by Telegram infrastructure in accordance with Telegram’s encryption and storage practices.
- Data processed solely by Telegram is governed by Telegram’s Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to review Telegram’s Privacy Policy to understand how Telegram handles your data, including message storage, encryption, phone number usage, contact syncing, and data deletion.
7. Telegram Bots and Mini Apps
When you interact with Telegram bots or Mini Apps through the Telejet App:
- Bot developers receive your data: Bots may receive your public Telegram profile data (display name, username, profile picture) and any messages or data you send to them. This is a function of the Telegram platform, not Telejet.
- Telejet does not control bots: Third-party bots and Mini Apps are created and maintained by independent developers, not by Telejet. They operate under their own terms of service and privacy policies.
- Payment through bots: If you make payments through a Telegram bot, the payment is processed by third-party payment providers. Neither Telejet nor Telegram receives your credit card details (see Telegram’s Privacy Policy for details on the Payment Platform for Bots).
- Your responsibility: Exercise caution when sharing data with bots or Mini Apps. Review the privacy policy of any bot or Mini App before interacting with it.
8. Public Channel Content
The Telejet App is primarily designed to display content from Telegram public channels and groups in a social feed format.
- Public content is public by nature: Any content posted in a public Telegram channel or group is accessible to anyone, including Telejet users. This is not unique to Telejet — Telegram’s own apps and other services also provide access to public content.
- Telejet does not own or editorially control channel content: All posts, media, and messages displayed in the feed originate from their respective channel authors. Telejet displays this content as-is through the Telegram API.
- Content caching: We may temporarily cache public channel content to improve feed loading performance. Cached content is not modified, is updated regularly, and is used solely for display purposes.
9. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the App, including cloud hosting and analytics. These providers are contractually required to use your data only for the purposes we specify.
- Translation providers: As described in Section 5, text content you choose to translate or process may be shared with the respective provider solely to deliver the requested result.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, in response to a valid legal process (such as a court order or subpoena), or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Telejet, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: If Telejet is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change via in-app notification or email.
- With your consent: We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
10. Keeping Your Data Safe
All data is stored heavily encrypted and protected by industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls, and regular security reviews.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your device and Telegram credentials secure.
11. Data Retention
- Account data: We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Services.
- Analytics data: Aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 24 months.
- Crash and diagnostic data: Retained for up to 12 months.
- Support communications: Retained for up to 24 months after resolution, unless longer retention is required by law.

13. Managing Your Data in the App

14. Inactive Accounts
If you do not use the Telejet App for a continuous period of 24 months, we may delete your Telejet account data (including feed preferences, bookmarks, and analytics data associated with your account) to maintain data minimization practices. This does not affect your Telegram account in any way.
Before deleting an inactive account, we will attempt to notify you via the email address associated with your account (if available). If no email is on file, the data will be deleted without prior notice.
15. Children’s Privacy
The Telejet App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support.tg@proton.me, and we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
Users aged 13–17 may use the App with parental or guardian consent, as described in our Terms of Service.
16. International Data Transfers
If you are accessing the Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers are located. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws of your country.
Where required by applicable law, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
