Child sexual exploitation policy

Child Sexual Exploitation Policy

Effective date: March 12, 2026

Telejet has zero tolerance for content that sexually exploits minors. This policy describes what is prohibited, how we detect and respond to violations, and how we cooperate with authorities to protect children.

1. Prohibited Content and Behavior

The following are strictly prohibited on Telejet:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): Any image, video, audio, or text that sexually depicts, exploits, or abuses a minor.
  • Grooming: Using the platform to build trust with a minor with the intent to exploit them sexually.
  • Solicitation: Sending or requesting sexual content involving minors.
  • Trafficking: Facilitating or promoting the sexual trafficking of children.
  • Sharing identifying information: Posting or distributing personal details of minors (name, address, school, daily routine) that could facilitate exploitation.
  • Sexualization of minors: Content that sexualizes children, even when it does not rise to the legal definition of CSAM.

2. Reporting

We encourage all users to report content or accounts they believe violate this policy.

All reports are reviewed by our Trust & Safety team. Reports involving potential CSAM are treated as the highest priority and are reviewed within 24 hours of receipt.

3. Enforcement

When a violation of this policy is confirmed, Telejet may take the following actions depending on the severity:

  • Immediate content removal: Confirmed CSAM and related content is removed immediately upon detection or verification.
  • Account suspension or termination: Accounts found to be sharing, soliciting, or distributing CSAM or engaging in grooming or exploitation are permanently banned without prior warning.
  • Restriction of features: Accounts suspected of violating this policy may have certain functionality temporarily restricted (e.g., ability to post, comment, or send messages) pending investigation.
  • Reporting to authorities: Confirmed CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via their CyberTipline. We cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies as required by applicable law (see Section 7).

Unless applicable law prevents us, we will notify you of any restrictions applied to your account and guide you on how to address them. If we made a mistake, we will lift or update the restriction and inform you accordingly. Permanent bans for child safety violations are rarely reversed.

4. Detection

We use a combination of automated tools and human review to detect violations of this policy:

  • Hash-matching technology: We use industry-standard perceptual hash-matching to detect known CSAM before it can be shared.
  • Proactive detection: Automated classifiers flag potentially violating content for human review.
  • User reports: Reports submitted by the community are reviewed promptly by our Trust & Safety team.

We continuously evaluate and update our detection methods to align with industry best practices, including guidance from the Tech Coalition.

5. Evidence Retention

When CSAM or related violations are detected or reported:

  • Relevant data (including content hashes, metadata, account information, and report details) is preserved for the period necessary to cooperate with law enforcement and comply with legal obligations.
  • Preserved data is stored securely with restricted access, limited to Trust & Safety personnel and authorized law enforcement upon valid legal request.
  • The actual violating content is removed from the platform immediately but may be preserved in a secure, access-restricted environment solely for the purpose of reporting to NCMEC and cooperating with law enforcement.

6. Appeals

Users who believe their content was removed or their account was suspended in error may appeal by contacting support.tg+safety@proton.me. Appeals are reviewed by the Trust & Safety team. Appeals related to child safety violations are reviewed with the highest degree of scrutiny.

7. Compliance with Laws

Telejet is committed to full compliance with all applicable child safety laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

  • United States: 18 U.S.C. § 2258A (mandatory reporting of CSAM to NCMEC), the PROTECT Act, and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
  • European Union: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), with particular attention to the processing of data relating to children under Article 8.
  • International: Applicable child protection laws in jurisdictions where Telejet is available.

We regularly review and update our policies and procedures to maintain compliance with evolving legal requirements and industry standards.

8. Designated Child Safety Contact

Telejet has appointed a designated Child Safety Officer responsible for:

  • Overseeing the implementation of this policy.
  • Coordinating responses to CSAM reports and law enforcement inquiries.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for child safety matters with Google Play and other platforms.
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with child safety standards.
